Taking wing
Who: Mogget, open!
Where: The Forest
When: Any time between 20th-22nd December
What: Mogget explores the country around Märchenstraße, in particular the forest.
Warnings: None
Status: Open
Mogget has grown bored of the town and the way the townspeople react to him. He doesn't like being known. He'd rather blend in and go about his business without being bothered. By now he's discovered that he can become invisible, which is ideal, but it doesn't solve the town's other problem: they have no decent fish. Clearly, he needs to explore further afield.
And what better way to explore than by flying? A pure white gyrfalcon soars over the forest, Mogget's sharp eyes taking in every inch of the geography. He's looking for a fast-flowing river, somewhere that might have fresh trout. When he finds a potential hunting ground - either river, lake, or any part of the forest where he can hunt mice if he gets bored of fish - he swoops down and reverts to cat form again, stalking his prey.
Mogget does have another, covert purpose for being here. The lamp. He wants rid of it, and he wants it hidden somewhere no-one will find it. One night, he bundles the lamp up into a bag, slips outside the city, then becomes a snowy owl and flies to the northern part of the forest, carrying the bundle with him. All of this is done invisibly and with his owl wings he makes no sound either, until he reaches the tree he's chosen to hide the lamp in and tucks it into an empty hollow.
That done, he flies away and doesn't become visible again until he's at least a mile away from the tree. To anyone watching, it probably looks as though a ghost bird has suddenly appeared in the sky. He lands on a tree stump and scratches at one wing, slightly annoyed by the red-painted metal ring on his leg. No matter what form Mogget takes, there's always some visible sign of his binding.
